ABOUT ALL SAINTS' CARDEN ACADEMY

Welcome,
Our Mission at All Saints' Carden Academy is to provide an exceptional education following the Carden curriculum and philosophy which, consistent with the Anglican principles of faith, tradition and reason, emphasizes the development of the individual with dignity, confidence, and respect for self and others while instilling a lifelong joy for learning.

Our Values

Love of Learning
Such a part of our foundation, a love of learning is incorporated into every part of our curriculum. These formative years are so important because your child’s understanding of education and its importance to his or her life will be developed during these years. We strive to make learning an enjoyable, collaborative experience.
Respect and Dignity
Each child comes to the Carden community with his or her own set of experiences, and our students are taught to embrace the diversity that is among us. We are in an increasingly complex society, and the greater understanding we have of each other as unique individuals, the greater success each will have as they grow and become contributors to society. We strive to give our students a greater understanding of those around them.
Learning beyond the book
We feel that it is important to be able to
use the education received in the classroom and put it into its correct context. In order to achieve that goal, we have several field trips throughout the year in which the students are encouraged to apply their knowledge to
the real world around them. Parents are encouraged to attend field trips and share educational experiences with their children. We strive to have our students experience the application of their “book learning” to the real world.
Branching out
As a regular part of the curriculum, our students study classical artists, and learn foreign languages. Studies have shown that
children under the age of 10 that are exposed to foreign languages and fine arts have overall superior school performance and problem-solving skills, and develop a deeper understanding of their own and other cultures. We strive to have our students become well-rounded independent
thinkers.
Our History

In 1934 Mae Carden opened her School for Young Children, which now extends its charming atmosphere to classrooms across the United States. The Carden Curriculum concerns itself with the education of the whole child, offering a superior fundamental education with enrichment programs and character-building guidance to round it out.
All Saints’ Carden Academy was established in 2004 by Janis Bengtson. She desired a more fulfilling elementary for her own children. She wanted to focus on educational excellence and many varied enrichment options, and to reinforce the value of good citizenship ad a sense of community. With her vision and dedication, combined with many supporters of All Saints’ Episcopal Church, our school began its humble beginnings with three children. The school has since grown every year.
The programs of our school have been developed to meet the goals, expectations and policies of the Carden Educational Foundation, All Saints’ Episcopal Church, and the school’s staff and parents. An All Saints’ Carden Academy education is based on the Carden curriculum and the Carden method. It develops students’ knowledge, skills and individuality as well as their sense of dignity, confidence and respect for others. It helps them learn to think by means of critical analysis, build stamina by means of self control, and gain confidence by means of achievement.
All Saints’ Carden Academy’s core curriculum emphasizes the fundamental subjects of language arts, literature, mathematics, science, social studies, and fine arts, with care for the education of each child. Its core curriculum is complemented by an enrichment program that includes: choir, band, physical education, gardening, cooking, Spanish, art, art history, and After School Enrichment. An All Saints’ Carden Academy education is a responsibility shared by the school and the family. The school carries forward its instructional program in a way that preserves, supports, and enriches the family unit.
